Here Tonight by Dave Power
We first heard Dave Power’s music a few years ago when a copy of his independently issued self-titled debut EP came to our notice. (Back then he was still called ‘David’). In the time since, the promise of that first clutch of songs has been maturing as Dave continues to write and play live wherever he finds an audience. Dave Power has been following his muse since the age of 16 when he found his mother’s old guitar and soon discovered he couldn’t put it down. Growing up in North Queensland, Dave left the country in his late teens to travel the world, but he didn’t leave that old guitar behind. It accompanied him everywhere. Now living in Brisbane, Dave has released another EP of his original songs called ‘Addiction’. The title refers to his relationship with music, his drive to write songs and perhaps even to that trusty old guitar, which is pictured on inside of the EP’s cover. Talking about the new disc, Dave says, “These songs represent where I’ve been.. and, who I’ve become.” Keep an ear out for Dave’s live performances and, in the meantime, check out “Here Tonight” from the new ‘Addiction’ EP.
