Extortion claim over dead sea lion
Updated
Police are investigating allegations of extortion over a sea lion found dead near a damaged abalone farm off Eyre Peninsula this month.
It was photographed wrapped in aquaculture farm debris near Elliston after a recent storm.
The South Australian Government says an autopsy is being done but it is thought the sea lion was dead before the storm.
The ABC has been told thousands of dollars were demanded from the aquaculture company to remove evidence of the sea lion.
